1. Personal Statement / Bio as an SAT Math Teacher
As a dedicated mathematics teacher specializing in SAT preparation, I focus on building students’ confidence and competence in all areas of the SAT Math section. I emphasize conceptual understanding over memorization, helping students grasp the “why” behind mathematical procedures. My teaching style combines clarity, patience, and structure, enabling students to break down complex problems into manageable steps. Through consistent practice and personalized guidance, I aim to not only improve their test scores but also develop critical thinking skills they can carry into their academic futures.
2. How I Teach SAT Math Skills (Lesson Style / Approach)
My SAT Math instruction is built around three key elements: concept clarity, strategic thinking, and practice with purpose.
- Concept Clarity: I begin by reviewing core topics tested on the SAT, including algebra, problem solving & data analysis, geometry, and advanced math. Each lesson is designed to simplify concepts, ensuring students have a solid foundation before moving forward.
- Strategic Thinking: Beyond knowing how to solve problems, I teach students how to think like the SAT. This includes recognizing question patterns, applying shortcuts, eliminating wrong choices, and managing time effectively during the test.
- Practice with Purpose: I use targeted practice questions and mini-quizzes to reinforce each concept. Then, we gradually build up to full-length math sections under timed conditions. After each test, we review errors together, turning mistakes into learning moments.
